If there's a more relaxing place in Velenje to enjoy a beer or a simple lunch, we have yet to find it. Surrounded by trees on the shore of Lake Škale, this venerable old house is both the home of the town's fishing association and a cosy restaurant where you can watch the local fishermen in action from the terrace or just take in the sweeping views of the lake with farmhouses, fields and villages in the distance. The kitchen opens at 12:00, and you can expect the place to be packed with families, cyclists and dogs at the weekends.
