A collaborative venture by a number of Slovene charities, the non-profit Gostilna Pod Strehco is as much a community hub as it is a restaurant. Its main mission is to feed locals struggling to get by, during the week preparing hundreds of subsidized hearty meals. The humble canteen located opposite the Moste Tržnica (Market) is also open to everyone, serving up a good range of freshly prepared lunches costing just €3. Supporting a worthy cause has never been easier, just head along for a tasty cheap lunch or coffee at Pod Strehco and you’ll be helping to feed someone in need.
