Čompa

A long-time local favourite for perfectly seasoned and prepared meat, it's one of the few restaurants in Ljubljana where you'll definitely want to make a reservation in advance. The menu is a single page, with a handful of cold and hot starters, so the main decision you'll have to make is whether you want beef, pork or horse, which come in categories akin to seafood restaurants (ie second, first and extra quality) and are priced accordingly. The owner has a reputation for being a bit of a character, if not full on eccentric, but that's all part of the charm. Highly recommended for meat lovers.
