A slightly more upmarket and trendy take on the classic milk bar, essentially a cheap place to eat with basic ingredients, in what was once the heart of the ministerial landscape during the communist era. As many work places had no canteens, many milk bars essentially took on the role of canteens for all nearby places of employment. Bar Bambino, with fresh food made on-site at very reasonable prices is one of the more famous ones. Come here to see why many locals prefer places like this to the usual fast-food muck. The interior is quite nostalgic, with a unique, somewhat dated mix of 1970s style - just for that authetntic PRL feel! The service is notoriously stern - pay, eat, leave. Stray from this simple model and you could be in trouble, even shouted at for simply asking for help, which, strangely, is all part of the unique experience you get in these places. Stern, but fair.
