In the deep south of the city and often overlooked. Founded in 1784 by Helena Radziwiłł the romantically landscaped park is open from ten in the morning until dusk and features a replica of Diana’s Temple standing in the centre of a manmade lake. The Królikarnia Palace is the undisputed highlight and was completed in 1786 following plans laid out by Domenico Merlini – the chap responsible for Łazienki Palace. Based on the renaissance age Villa Rotunda in Vicenza the palace was also used as base by Polish and American revolutionary Tadeusz Kościuszko during the Kościuszko Uprising in 1794, and it’s grounds were a popular spot for the super-rich to enjoy their favourite vice: rabbit hunting.

I was there in 2007 - recommend it for a Sunday-get rest and peace in mind. And a glance into excentric thinking and living... Enjoy!
