Adam Mickiewicz Museum of Literature

Widely regarded as Poland's greatest poet, Adam Mickiewicz is right up there with European heavies Byron and Goethe. A 'national bard' of not only Poland, but also Lithaunia and Belarus, he is responsible for inspiring Romanticism in Poland, and you can learn all about him in this museum on the Old Town Square. As well as having a number of manuscripts and historical artefacts connected with Mickiewicz, the museum also hosts temporary exhibits (with English translations) connected with other leading Polish writers.
