Sopot's main cemetery is set among the trees just outside of town and makes for an interesting diversion if you are walking one of the many paths that traverse the forest. It's worth a look just to see how much respect Poles pay to their graves which are particularly worth seeing on All Saints' Day on November 1, when thousands come to remember their dead.

Of particular note is the fact that even abandoned graves are remembered by those visiting graves nearby and they will most often be so clean with a candle or flowers placed that it is difficult to know that nobody visits them anymore. Take a look at the old Jewish Cemetery across the road as well which will make you think twice about any (inaccurate) stories you might hear about many Poles being anti-Semitic.
