Zdzisław Beksiński Gallery

The artistic canon of Zdzisław Beksiński needs no introduction, and this Gallery of his work is one of the most comprehensive in the world, hosting as it does 600 of his unique works. It is part of the Historical Museum in Sanok, (the same ticket as the Musuem). Famed son of Sanok, Beksiński, was born in the town in 1929. Almost each work housed by the Historical Museum was chosen by the artist himself as being career-defining; there are paintings, scultures, photos on display (including a recreation of his studio) - providing a fascinating insight into the mind of a tortured soul. Beksinski was brutally murdered in his Warsaw apartment on 21 February 2005.
