Its simply not true to say that the 88A does not stop at Piotrkowska. The stop is the intersection of Zamenhofa and Piotrkowska and is the 12th stop from the Airport. It does go on to terminate at Fabryc. Returning from Fabryczna in the direction of the Airport this time its Struga which intersects with Piotrkowska. The buses frequency changes throughout the day but its a pretty regular service.

For those arriving in Łódź by plane count yourself extremely lucky. In fact despite the massive amount of money invested by the EU in upgrading the terminal building the President of Łódź (the third largest city on Poland) who should be doing all she can to promote the city, thinks the airport isnt necessary and would prefer you to have to fly in to Okecie (two hours away) or Modlin even further. Welcome to Poland where there is still a certain mindset trapped deeply in the past.

The latest modus operandii of Lodz's white elephant runs along the lines of all roads lead to Rome or to be more precise, Munich. Basically the marketing pitch runs along the lines that you can fly to lots of places in the World, as long as you first fly to a decent airport first. The people of Lodz and its surrounding areas deserve an excellent airport providing services the people need. All this joke of a place does is provide a few people with a fat salary, great pension and not a lot to do.

Shined floors and modern but one of the worst airports I have ever visited. Populated by bored officials with nothing to do. Warsaw Modlin comes a close second (but at least you can fly somewhere from there even though the task of getting there and back is tortuous, ill thought through and takes an age). Lodz airport has lost its flights to Bristol, Liverpool, Dublin, Dortmund and Copenhagen. It has to be one of the most pointless airports in Europe but its clearly been sacrificed to shift traffic to the glorified warehouse that is "Warsaw" Modlin (which is almost an hour by train from Warsaw).
