The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus began construction in 1880, and was completed of 1884. Originally the Evangelical-Augsburg church of St. John the Evangelist, it is built in the neo-Romanesque style, according to the design of engineer Ludwik Schreiber. Later, the Jesuits carried out the ministry, buying buildings from the Evangelical-Augsburg community in 1989. Catholics used the church on the basis of the consent of the state authority, which defined it as post-Evangelical property. The church was consecrated by Fr. Franciszek Przybylski SI, superior of the Jesuits in Łódź, on behalf of the clerical authority.

The monuments of art owned by the parish include: 2 embroidered chasubles from the 18th century, an embroidered chasuble from the beginning of 19th century with a column from the Polish belt, 2 chasubles, a cope and a dalmatic fabric from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries and an embroidered stole from the end of the 17th century. Pillars, arches, pilasters, capitals - all in white, together with a dark ceiling gives beautiful and lofty neo-gothic effect. In addition, there are interesting stained glass windows, a beautiful baptismal font, a magnificent main altar with massive candlesticks, an interesting carved pulpit and a balustrade at the altar. Biernacki's organs from Włocławek from the 1920s, spacious balconies - many places. Historic polychromes in the vault of the nave and transept. Two historic stained glass windows in the northern and southern galleries from the studio of St. Łukasz in Warsaw (turn of the 19th and 20th centuries).
