Railway Museum hero image

Much more than just an homage to trains (although an homage to trains it is), the Railway Museum in Kościerzyna tells the broader history of the Kashubia region from the perspective of the rails, from Prussian times all the way up to the present day. Learn about topics ranging from the first fan-type steam locomotives that plied the tracks in the 1880s to the importance of the region as a transit point connecting the Silesian mines with the port in Gdynia (bypassing the then newly declared Free State of Gdańsk). The museum includes 47 different types of rail vehicles, including 17 steam locomotives. Find it to the east of the town, on the left as you drive in; follow the 'Parowozownia Kościerzyna' signs.
