Accordion Museum

Even if you're not a fan of accordion music (or perhaps especially if you're not a fan of accordion music) a visit to Kościerzyna's Accordion Museum will be an eye (and ear) opening experience. Only inaugurated in 2010, the museum is relatively new, which means it also has a more modern feel to it than you might expect, with very informative, interactive exhibits where you can hear what each instrument sounds like and even try to play some of them yourself. All information is presented in Polish, Kashubian, English and German languages. Boasting some 140 instruments from around the world at last count, the collection features amongst the official Book of Polish Records and Peculiarities. It's also no accident or coincidence that it was opened in Kashubia, as the region has long been associated with accordions, and they are a permanent fixture in most local bands.
