WL4 - Przestrzeń Sztuki is an art workshop and gallery on the edge of the Imperial Shipyard area of the Gdańsk Shipyard district. In the 17th century, an inn and later cafe/restaurant called Mleczny Piotr (DE: Milch Peter / ENG: Milk Peter) was located here, and this address is still referred to as such by locals!
With the development and expansion of the shipyard areas in the 19th and 20th centuries, the building that now houses the art space was built, though it functioned as a warehouse for ship furniture. To facilitate the heavy transfers of these items, the 151A crane was built beside it. The art space itself was opened in 2020 with many non-associated artistic residencies to follow. Painters and industrial sculptors have their studios here, and musical performances are also a common occurence. Whilst you can try dropping in to just take a peak at any activity, it's recommended that you check out their facebook for details on exhibitions!
