As the glory years of the Gdańsk Shipyards enter their twilight years, many old building spaces have been left derelict as industry activity shifts towards Brzeźno and Gdynia. A common initiative in many urban areas around the world, the repurposing or 'adaptive reuse' of the warehouse buildings on Ulica Elektryków (Electricians' Street) into a small nightlife district has breathed new life into the area and is a great alternative for those who think an evening in Gdańsk Old Town is a little stale! It's also the best place to see live music, DJs and dance music events in the city. Bands and cultural events regularly happen at B90, W4 Food Squat is an indoor food hall (open more often in Summer) with dozens of street food options, Drizzly Grizzly serves cocktails, and there are a number of other food, drink and shopping outlets around the site, plus heaps of impromptu furniture for your convenience. Best checked out in the warmer months, as winter is a little harsh to be lounging around outside!
