In the last part of her life, Anna Walentynowicz lived at al. Grunwaldzka 49, in a third-floor apartment. A plaque on the wall outside reads 'In this building lived Anna Walentynowicz (1929-2010) a believer in God and the concept of a sovereign, strong Poland. Committed to the fight for the dignified treatment of workers. Communist resistance activist. Solidarity legend. Tragically died in the aircraft catastrophe near Smoleńsk, April 10, 2010.'
