Now officially open, Arena Gliwice is Silesia's largest indoor events and sports venue (sorry, Spodek), and also one of the largest in Poland. The arena consists of two halls; the main one, when packed full to the brim, can hold 17,000 spectators, and thanks to its multi-purpose use, can be transformed to accommodate sporting events, concerts, and even an indoor ice-rink in winter. The main building also contains 5 conference halls for business and other events. The smaller of the two halls can likewise be used for sporting events, conferences and various other events. It even contains a 20m high indoor climbing wall, which can be used by 80 people at a time. The surrounding 10ha of land also includes parking spaces for 800 cars, and both buildings are surrounded by 640m long cycling and skating lane.
