Granite bathrooms all with showers only, partially renovated rooms, large mirrors for the ladies and an astonishingly camp breakfast room mark the Orient as a better place than many to park your head every night. There’s not a lot of English spoken here but they do have BBC World to compensate (you’d be surprised how many good German hotels don’t), and if you can’t stand the idea of eating in the breakfast room you can save yourself €6 a day and go without a morning meal.
