Buchstabenmuseum

Berlin has had a love affair with neon lettering since the 1920s, when the Ku'damm was lit up by signs advertising restaurants and cinemas. The fabulous and newly reopened Buchstabenmuseum aims to collect and preserve Berlin's lettering, a task that hasn't been easy with the rapid changes to the city in the past 20 years. Admire shopfront and building-top typography from all eras, for example the elegant neon 1980s 'Zierfische' (ornamental fish) sign from East Berlin.
